Fingers Crossed

This week will be the first week where the temperatures reach 100 degrees. Damn you Texas! Last year, the temperatures were in the 100's for 45 days straight. I realized that summertime for me is just like wintertime. I.Do.Not.Want.To.Go.Outside. Even my 2 year-old son who was created to be outside is always asking to go inside. So now, we have to get out an hour or two earlier. Sigh.....okay, enough complaining.

On another note.....I have a job interview on Tuesday morning!!!!! Go me! {cue the butterfly dance}
I'm not sure what will come of it, but I'm just happy that my resume was looked at and I was called in for an interview. My degree is in engineering but since becoming a stay at home mom (SAHM), I have really wanted to switch my career to one that allowed me more flexible hours. Actually after having my boys, I wished I would've gone into nursing or teaching.....the only thing is that I just didn't don't like those careers.

Oh, the stresses of being a mom----> The tug of war between working and spending time at home [raising] your kids. During my time at home, I've had done lots of searches, as well as said lots of prayers, about what career I should switch into, but I haven't come up with any. Maybe I'll be able to talk my way into part-time work, who knows? Its really hard figuring out my next move in a new state and area where I don't know enough people to lean on for support. I really hate the lack of diversity here in Fort Worth. I'm not even motivated to be outgoing and meet new [mom] friends because the ones I've been around are just....bleh.

I don't know what my next move is but keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!! Do any of you have any 'cool' yet flexible careers that doesn't involve blood (nursing) or kids (teaching)?

  1. Good luck!!! I think about returning to work ALL OF THE TIME, but I too would rather have something flexible or part-time really. Of course, part-time jobs like that--that pay enough to be worth the effort, are far and few between but they do pop up! Anyway, I couldn't be a nurse or teacher either. I'll keep an eye on this post to see what others suggest. lol

  4. Congrat's Soror. So happy for you. I only work 3 days a week. It's amazing. I hope you get to find something you love. And I know what you mean about moving to a new state and not wanting to meet any other SAHM. I've tried and tried and still haven't found any new "friends."
