My Little Honeybadger...

My 18 month old son is a honey badger. "He doesn't give a ----, he just takes what he wants." My husband and I had the audacity to fall asleep at the same time AFTER we took him out of his crib for naptime. What the heck were we thinking?!? Well, during that time, we left my 2.5 year old's lunch on the counter, thinking he'll be up maybe 20 mins later. I'm a power-napper so I thought I would catch a little nap. Unfortunately my husband did the same thing. Our youngest didn't want to eat his lunch when my husband gave it to him and instead let him "go play." Well in that 20 min timeframe when we both fell asleep, my youngest took my oldest boy's lunch off the plate and threw everywhere in the living room.......just for the hell of it.

My husband was shocked that he could reach up on the counter and that he took the food off of the plate without causing the plate to fall. I was more shocked at the nerve he had to bring the food into the living room in the first place!!!!

Now I understand what people mean when they say "Every child you have is different." My oldest son would have NEVER done anything like this!!!!! One is cautious (though still toes the line) and the other one completely throws caution to the wind.....because there are several more stories just like this. Sheesh.

Shoe Passion And A Bit of Fashion

My house contains three males........THREE!!!!! My husband has always been into sports [because he played football in high school and college]. Like, when he gets home, the tv typically goes to ESPN. And wouldn't you know it, my 2.5 year old watches basketball and golf like he knows what's going on???? Yes....in real life.

I used to be really into sports until I gave birth to two boys and now.......I am officially giving up sports because I just can't let testosterone run everything in this house! Okay, for a while at least. The one thing I WON'T give up for now is the ESPY's. I used to think it was such a useless awards show but now I love it because the men are always in the flyest suits and the women are always in the cutest .::kyoo - test::. oh and I guess athletes should be recognized just like artistic entertainers.
The ESPY's fashion is also a nice and 'summery' change of pace from the usual formal attire seen on the Oscar's and Grammy's red carpets.

My favorite was Jessica Biel's dress......AND SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!

I want, I want, I want! I really want to find some knockoffs, ha ha.

Christian Dior dress

Nicholas Kirkwood pumps

After she presented the award 'Best Breakthrough Athlete' I went to her twitter page to see what she said about the awards show and to see if she posted any more pictures of her ensemble. Instead of a picture, she tweeted something like, "....this is supposed to be about sports but LOOK AT MY SHOES!!!"
All I could do was chuckle because I thought the same thing. Now....I wonder how many different colors these come in. {scratches head}

Another gorgeous outfit was strutted by Olivia Munn.
Lavendar tank gown by Giorgio Armani

I'm so covetous of tiny and perfect stomachs!

When I looked for pictures from the ESPYS red carpet, I wasn't sure if any pictures did this dress justice. It was simple yet to me, beautiful. You have to have a pretty amazing and practically flawless body to pull this off!

I figured since I mentioned  "fly suits," I needed to post one, although they looked better on television than in pictures.
Aaron Rodgers - Green Bay Packers

Same Nicholas Kirkwood shoe, different color......
$398 on www.thecorner.com
I prefer the neon color being on the heel instead of the shoe. Still such a dope shoe!

What do you think about this shoe? Did you watch the ESPY's? I'm sure I was the only one in blog land watching, ha.

Life Update -- The Unexpected, D.C. and Interviews

Over the past month I have had some unexpected things happen. I wanted to blog about it a couple weeks ago, but you know how you just don't know if you should.......so you don't? Yeah, that's what happened. I'll just 'hint' around with the notion that I am apart of a different mom club.....the one where you don't get a baby at the end. Everything is gravy now.

Around Father's Day weekend, I got a chance to hang with some of my awesome friends and line sisters in D.C. and let's just say it was like our Hangover with no nudity, ha ha. I think I was meant to live on the east coast in my former life.
Former life because the miwest cost-of-living has me so spoiled that I could never pay an arm and a leg for a fraction of what I've been used to having.
I guess that makes me frugal.

My job interview went well. I'm sure its for full-time work though. Gosh, apart of me hates engineering. I'm just too social/cool for it. Being at a desk all day doing AutoCAD and working with a calculator and engineering scales just.....sigh......is so boring.
Anyway, in the beginning the interview was going well but by the end of it, the two guys interviewing were kind of looking at me like....."Does she know what she is talking about?" I forgot my engineering terminology, i.e. names of certain methods and proper descriptions of some design work. I could sense that I had kind of 'blown' it, but once they took me to a computer and watched me dibble dabble in CAD (computer aided design software), they were like, "Oh! So you know what this is; how to do this; what this does?"
Of course, I'm like "Yes....." as I explain further as well as draw a couple of things. They handed me a couple examples of company standards and I left feeling kind of good.

Fast forward several weeks and today I just had a second interview, which technically, wasn't an interview at all. I had to take a personality profile test, which is the second step in their interveiw process. {eyeroll} I really don't like tests. I already know an answer in the logic section that I answered wrong-------> thanks to my engineer husband that told me the right answer immediately. Its okay, I won't get down on myself, even though I can easily wonder what ELSE I answered incorrectly in that section......instead I'll just keep telling myself I'm too cool for this.
